Since the inception of the helicopter, the United States Marine Corps has been utilizing rotor wing technology to save lives.  From Korea and Vietnam to present day operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, Marines have been flying one of the most important missions:  Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC).

The Marine Aviation Memorial Tower was designed to memorialize the sacrifices of all Marines past, present and future and to honor those Marines and sailors that fly the CASEVAC mission.  From 2004 to 2008, Marine HMM and HMLA squadrons supported the CASEVAC mission in Iraq 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Every day a bell was rung signaling to Marines and sailors that a Marine had fallen, and it was their job to bring them home.

Please help the Marines and sailors bring the Marine Aviation Memorial Tower to MCAS New River, Jacksonville, NC.

Story of the Purple Foxes (Updated)

In 1969, Gary Norman Young joined the US Navy to serve his country when they were calling.  He joined a Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC) Squadron that on his first day of flying, his aircraft was shot down and 6 of the 7 crew members died.

In 2007, another CASEVAC helicopter flew the same mission on the same day and seven crew members died.
